Add a CommentTouching story of a cruel world through the innocent eyes of a young boy. Highly recommended!
book is good but the movie is horrible.
touching story and I am VERY glad that that won't happen again cause "that was a very long time ago and nothing like that will happen again in this day and age"
What an outstanding book. I will keep going back to this one. It's quite short, but John Boyle's characters are well drawn and the plot is a page turner. Make sure you have tissues
Everyone should read this. It puts war in a different perspective.
It's a very moving story and had a unique way of portraying things; reading through the perspective of a little boy made this a story that I wont forget.
This is a really sad story and the movie is alot sadder. I cried about four times throughout the movie and it was depressing. The book has some added bits and pieces than the movie shows.
This is one of those books that will stay with me forever. An amazing story and one I thoroughly recommend. It's not a long-winded trawl through WWII, with superfluous information, so this makes it an easy read (although the subject matter is heartbreaking). Haven't seen the movie. Maybe, one day .... but I'm not sure if I want to spoil my own memory of this book, as I often find the film adaptation of a book quite disappointing.
