Summaries
Add a SummaryThe back: Riding a bike is only one of the many things Auden's missed out on. Even before her parents divorce, she was cast in the role of little adult, never making waves, focusing on academics to please her demanding mother. Now she's spending the summer before college in the tiny beach town of Colby with her father and his new wife and baby. A job in a trendy boutique introduces her to the world of girls, their friendships, conversations, romances. And then there's Eli, an intriguing loner. A former star on the bike circuit and a fellow insomniac, Eli introduces Auden to the nocturnal world of Colby. Together they embark on a quest: for Auden, to experience the carefree teenage life she's been denied; for Eli, to put a tragic episode behind him. Combine two lonely people with a charming beach town and endless supply of long sumer nights, and just about anything can happen.
Auden West breaks up with her boyfriend Jason because he thinks she's not taking enough dedication to his library job, and because she disclosed an email with I love you. She than moves in with her Dad, step mom Heidi and newborn little Sister Thisbe. Where she is thrown into the world of Girls, Boys, Jealous Ex's, Biking, A quest for her childhood back, and Romance. Will she end up with Eli? Read the book to find out.

Add a Quote“Maybe the truth was, it shouldn’t be easy to be amazing. Then everything would be. It’s the things you fight for and struggle with before earning that have the greatest worth. When something’s difficult to come by, you’ll do that much more to make sure it’s even harder –if not impossible – to lose.” (pg.299)
“Leah looked at Maggie. ‘Great,’ she muttered. ‘He’s got the hots for you, and now we all have to eat wieners because of it.’ “ (pg.184)
I sat down on my bed, looking out at the beach below. There were a lot of things about being here that I did not understand. And I was okay with that. But the wave machine? It drove me nuts.

Add a CommentReally good!! I really like auden! A must read!
My favourite Sarah Dessen book yet! Some of her books are sketchy and not too great, but this one is awesome! It is just so fantastic!! Very, very awesome
While I was reading it, I thought the book was OKAY. As in, it was interesting enough and wasn't too bad but I didn't find the romance aspect that everyone compliments Dessen for (is that what they comment her for?) to be all that special. But I DID like her character development, and her character's relationship development. I found myself becoming more intrigued with her life with her family and friends instead of with Eli, and that's rare for me. But I liked the way she crafted the story and showed Auden's growth. I love a story where the characters grow. So I can see why everyone compliments Dessen on her ability to get into the mind of a youth. And although I didn't absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE the book while reading it, I liked it a lot, and was suprised to find it stuck on my mind after I finished reading. And Auden's name, I think, is absolutely gorgeous. I have a thing for unique names. :)
God, I absolutely love this book. Its my all time favorite <3
i love all her books<3. im just waiting for her next book to come out lmao (:
this was the worst out of all of sarah dessens books. It was boring and not that good. Sarah dessens new book is coming out "the moon and more".
Another awesome sarah dessen book!
I love Sarah Dessen, but I wish she would branch out more. Every story is the same. Girl moves somewhere, meets boy, fall in love, something happens, they don't talk and in the end they are together. Don't get me wrong, you should read her books because she is a fantastic young adult writer. She should try something else though.
this was one of my favorite books i've read
I'd initially thought I wouldn't like this one a whole lot, based on the description, but it was really good!
