glad I read these comments. Just placed a hold to check this out, but no way with Ted Danson in it. Love Glenn Close, but him????? Hated Cheers, Loved Frasier (favorite sit-com of all time). (And I speak as a former Bostonian (by work, not choice) now transplanted to the utter serendipity of Seattle and loving it)

Absolutely fantastic writing, great writing, unparallel time transcending. I was hooked after two episodes - you wont be disappointed.

season one is the best. Ted Danson just rocks--who knew. After 1st season the writers went all herky jerky non-chronological plot. It's just gimmicky and the young writers are raised on amped -up -on meth video games and have 2 second attention spans like the audience. The writers do not realize that with good actors like CLose you don't need to jerk the audience around every 2 seconds as you do when you don't want them to realize how stupid the plot is. Not necessary here because of fantastic acting--slow down and enjoy life.

Season one is an excellent drama set in the world of NYC law and business. The story is told using flashbacks. It starts with the season's end and then flashes back to the story's beginning and progresses from there. An usual format but very well done.

Gripping, scathing, insightful with a darkly humorous edge. There's nothing like it. Everyone is 100% top notch in their roles. Glenn Close, Ted Danson and Zeljko Ivanek really stand out, though. The scenes between these three elevate this to grandiose heights. The flashbacks are sometimes annoying; you can't (and won't want to) miss episodes with this series.

Great counterpoint to TV's "Good Wife" where the female lead is definately the good girl swimming in a sea of corruption. Patty Hewes (Glenn Close) rides the corruption like a wave to the shoals of profit and success.

As usual, Glenn Close gives another outstanding performance, Similar to her role and the evil Marquise in Dangerous Liaisons, Patty Hewes is an amoral character who will do anything to get her way. But unlike the Marquise, the viewer isn't exactly sure whether Patty is pure evil. But both characters have the same philosophy: Win or die. By the way - no skipping episodes. You have to watch them in order or you will miss valuable clues.
