Add a CommentA literary classic that I recommend for all young girls (young boys are welcome to read it too!) I think this one is the best of the series although the others are good also (including the darker Rilla of Ingleside which focussed on Anne's daughter during WW1 - unlike the TV adaptation that put Anne in WW1). Anne's spirit and desire to do good carry her through various difficulties in fine form.
Booooring....she's WAAAAAy too talky an she imagines like a 5 yr old. also it's toooo romantic.....
First in the classic series of the red-haired orphan with spunk!
My sister tried to convince me to read the series for a few years but I did not want to because she likes different book than I do, but I finely read read it and i could not put down the books.I have read the first six and I am dieing to read the last two, I think everyone should read these books
it was one of the first i ever read and i love it
A wonderful story about a girl who, within her own circumstances, shapes the world around her.
I tried to read this book as a child and I found it so unbearable that I couldn't finish it; I tried it again a few years ago and loved the whole series (Anne of Ingleside wasn't the best, though), so if you didn't love it the first time, wait a few years and try it again!
I am 35 years old and this book and its series is one of my favorites! So heartfelt and touching with wonderful lessons to use as a parent and entertaining for young girls going through trials of their own. In such a hectic world that we live in, it is so nice to sit down with these books and get lost in the peace and slow paced world of Green Gables.
Absolutely loved this book. I highly recommend that every girl read this, especially those who are prone to mishaps and adventures.
I love this book, it is on my favorite shelf next to the Narnias and Harrys.
