The whole boy triangle thing is a little tiresome, but the story action in this was much more interesting than the first book. Plus, bonus points for Tempest choosing the guy I was rooting for... fingers crossed she doesn't change her mind in the final book!
I really liked this book! The only thing was that at the end, Mark seemed sort of like a jerk.
Tempest is an admirable hero. The battle with evil sea witch Tiamat is also pretty good, as is the Kona-Mark conflict. Overall, an enjoyable read.
