This album, True, includes some of Avicii’s most well-known and iconic songs, such as “Wake me Up”. The Swedish musician was known for his generally upbeat EDM music, complemented by strong vocals and catchy lyrics from featuring artists. The trend continued with this album, where various singers were featured, and different moods were created across 10 songs, ultimately bound together by his iconic “feel-good” style. I think Avicii’s music was unique and different from other mainstream EDM musicians at the time because it proved to be a “softer” alternative to their heavy use of the bass and drops. I really enjoyed the album as a whole, and I would give it 4.5 stars.

Great soundtrack. Rest in peace.
Ever since Avicii’s latest song “Levels” became a hit, his full album “True” came out almost a year ago. And by the beats of his songs, he did an amazing job, since he was influenced by Daft Punk (which I did a review on their album, Random Access Memories), and Swedish House Mafia, both involving with remixes. Avicii changes a little bit his style, only to obtain amazing results. I think that the songs are well structured with the enough amount of"beat". Avicii will stay at the top the rest of the year, since his hit singles “Wake Me Up”, “Hey Brother”, and “Addicted to You”, all became at the top of billboard charts after the album’s release. Since then True is an album that takes one type of music and moulds it into something completely different, allowing Avicii to cement himself as one of the best DJs in the world. This also explain why he was chosen to remix “Derezzed” featuring Negin for Disney’s Dconstructed, which I also reviewed the EDM album itself. Following the success of such tracks as “Levels” and “Silhouettes,” Avicii vaulted to a new mainstream level with the success of “Wake Me Up,” the first single from “True.” In the U.S., the single, featuring soul singer/rapper Aloe Blacc on vocals and Incubus’s Mike Einziger on acoustic guitar, has climbed into the top 5 on the Billboard Hot 100, while it has gone No. 1 in 22 other countries. The song, which combines an acoustic guitar, folky melody with Blacc’s striking vocals, and Avicii’s beats sounds like it shouldn’t work, but it does... beautifully. Therefore, this is why Avicii’s latest album is the best out of all the other EDM albums, but this is just the beginning.
If you liked the original "True" album and you realized that you were tired of listening to the original songs over and over again, then you will love the Remixed version of it: True (Avicii by Avicii).
