Not one of M.Night's better films/stories. Aliens who are vulnerable to water come to a planet of mostly water surface coverage, and humidity?? Story is slow, and as intentional as the direct is trying to use that effect, it is just too slow paced, for an otherwise simple story.

Good movie. I liked The Village and The Sixth Sense better.

Signs is total SyFy junk from start to finish. Director, M. Night Shyamalan is a complete buffoon to foist this garbage on his audience and expect one to be entertained.

Everyone has wondered at some point, why bad things happen. I liked the premise that someone who has been actively looking for signs could realize that they've been all around him all along. This film also demonstrates that you don't need a lot of special effects to achieve an effect. I was a little disappointed that the solution turned out to be more trivial than that of Well's War Of The Worlds though.

Not a great movie, but not a good movie, unless you are a complete retard; everything this gooner Schymalan touches reeks of crap--just yard variety dog piles.

I had been afraid to watch this movie since it came out because I don't go out for aliens and scary stuff. But it had my beloved Mel in it so I gave it a try. So surprised about how much I enjoyed it--enough to cough up a few bucks and add it to my very spare collection. Had multiple laugh-out-loud-rewind-then-repeat moments (including a suggestion for handling the anxiety of an impending alien invasion with the advice to "calm down and eat some fruit or something"). I agree the plot has lots of holes but the comedy and the very touching relationships between all the family members FAR outweighs any weaknesses for me. This is one I liked watching a 2nd time. Plus is fine to watch with kids.

A preacher named Graham Hess lives on a farm with his children, a son and a daughter, and his brother Merrill. He begins to notice odd occurrences in his crop field but initially dismisses them as people messing around on his field. However, he sees in the news that this is happening in other places in the world too, not just his field, and ends up thinking that perhaps there is some sort of extraterrestrial involvement. This is not your typical alien movie where people are killed and guns are sprayed everywhere. There really isn’t any real fighting worth mentioning. What this movie is really about is the suspense and thrill.

What is wrong with M. Night Shyamalan? Obviously he has a little bit of talent in film making, but he wastes it on complete trainwrecks in terms of story line and believe ability. This is one of the few films of his I enjoy, but the plot is so horrible it is hard to take it seriously.

Yep. Science Fiction at its absolute worst and its most preposterous. Another piece of junk from dizzy director, Shyamalan.

Graham Hess: Everybody in this family needs to just calm down and eat some fruit or something.
