As a fan of giant lizard-ey monsters, robots, and Anne Hathaway, I was predisposed to like this movie. It did not disappoint. In fact, it took my expectations and went in a completely different direction. Though the film is listed as a "comedy," darker elements and twists in the story made the movie something far more than just "Anne Hathaway is adorable and dysfunctional but isn't that just so quirky." It delivers all you expect it to, plus a little bit more. Overall, this would be a perfect movie night watch in spite of the darker elements.

Fantastic movie! Jason S. definitely has leading man chops and proves here he can be an incredible villain when called upon. Anne Hathaway is Anne Hathaway. That's all you really need to know! If you can stick with the seeming zaniness of the plot, it's a unique cinematic achievement, dipping in and out of several genres and doing them all fairly well.

It's a drama. It's a comedy. It's sci-fi with a monster. It's a psychological thriller. You wouldn't think the mash-up would work, but it does. There are holes in the plot, there are deeper issues that could have been explored, but as is, it will keep you guessing and is just so quirky!

Surprisingly good!
The cast, acting, storyline, and unexpected twists are all top-notch.
Jason Sudeikis, in particular, is notably good. After seeing him in so many comedies it is pleasantly jarring to see his much more serious side.
Anne Hathaway, however, despite a solid performance, plays just about the most undeserving lowlife to commandeer the role of protagonist.
She's an Anti-heroine at best.
And, she is chased and lauded over for reasons, outside of her looks, that I simply couldn't imagine.
Plus, her hair is just gross. The entire movie I just wanted to punch her in her face.
Other than that this movie is actually really, really good.

Pleasantly peculiar! And a great twist for an ending!

I'm on the "this is a pretty good movie" side. I took it out for the odd concept. Then I was surprised by the turn it took. Yes, it's a little dark, but so original.

Terrible movie. I don't normally put in a review, but had to this time. Do not waste your time. No point to the movie. I'm glad I didn't waste requesting this movie on Netflix. It just goes to show you that just because a movie is made doesn't make it good. What a waste of good talent in a pointless movie.

Well-done film, surprised me with it's depth since I thought it would be mostly silly. The monster premise was fun, but they also followed through to make the rest of the story interesting and give the characters depth. It was more of a drama than I was expecting but it still had me intrigued and engaged throughout. I liked the ending as well, it was a bit of a surprise.
Trigger Warning: movie depicts a violent and abusive relationship!

Terribly bad movie. What was the connection to South Korea? Why was she a monster and Jayson a Robot? Why was the children's playground area 'magically' connected to South Korea?
Why was Jayson a bi-polar psycotic, was he abused as a child? Ugggg...

A bizarre story line, but strangely compelling. I liked it.

Early scene - excuses:
I got into the car at 2. But then, I was going here. Well, I thought I was coming here. But then Georgia, wanted to go to the loft. You know I want to head home, so then I had to go to the loft. And when we got there, he was like... Well, now I want to take a nap. Then I'm waiting for her, until she wake up and then... I fell asleep. I have been asleep all day.
===
Listen...Georgia wanted to go, I didn't even want to go.
-Who the fxck is Georgia?
Natasha.

Well, you know like... if the monster only attacking Seoul... then all the rest of the world would stop caring, you know like... all the cease fire that happened.
