Add a CommentDo not expect the same level of greatness and general quirkiness in this Herzog film as you will find in his classics (Aguirre, Fitzcarraldo, Nosferatu, Heart of Glass) - however, this is a pretty good adaptation of Woyzeck - with Klaus Kinski still looking manic as ever.
Early Herzog film loosely derived from Buchner's opera Woyzeck. Klaus Kinski gives an unusually subdued performance which still manages to be riveting in its intensity. As with most of Herzog's films, it's hard to forget.
