Although I've read many accounts of the Holocaust, this true story moved me intensely. The writer is dying of cancer but doesn't mention it in the text which is about her father's family and the consequences anti-semitism had on their lives. The book is largely taken up with old letters between family members and, through this technique, the reader grows to know and care about the individuals of the family. I think I will remember and grieve for a long time after finishing this book.
Never forget.
