Diamond Valley Municipal Band perform at the presentation of a sundial to the the Shire of Diamond Valley, outside the Diamond Valley Library (then named the Greensborough Library) from the Diamond Valley District Scouts, during a carnival day of activities and displays to celebrate the 150th birthday of Victoria in 1984.Formed in 1979 under the impetus of Rob Cooper and Gary Smith, in 1982 the band had 30 senior and 16 junior members. The musical director was Wilfred Dyson. The Shire of Diamond Valley made an initial grant of $26,000 for the purchase of instruments.
