It was the cover that first drew me to this book. The image with a dragon and pistols intrigued me (it is also a really intense battle scene when you get to it in the book). The characters are fun and lively. They are your standard fantasy fair (noble hero, innocent and gentle priest, demon-like bad guys, dragons, etc.), but with their foibles and strengths, they grow into their own personalities. Coupled with an interesting plot, and this book is down right enjoyable. It won't win any awards, but the entertainment value is definately there.

I didn't enjoy this book very much. It was very slow. Too slow. Oh, well. The writing isn't TOO bad.
