A deadly war is coming to Stenvik - and in the clash between old and new, only the strongest will survive.

As punishment for disgracing his father, Ulfar Thormodsson has spent two bitterly uncomfortable years on the road, tasked with taking his highborn cousin Geiri on a tour of the kingdom. Now his journey is almost at an end - the walled town of Stenvik will be their final stop.

But Stenvik will soon become the battleground in a deadly war between the old gods and the new: King Olav is bringing the White Christ to the masses at point of sword and edge of blade, while a Viking horde led by a mysterious woman is sailing from the north.

And Ulfar is about to learn that not all enemies are outside the walls . . .

OUTSTANDING !!!!! Could not put it down! Very Fast Paced. At first it was difficult to keep up with several plots all going on at the same time, but once you knew the characters it began to make sense and flow more easily. Lots of action scenes, but maybe a bit too bloody for some, this is to be expected when you are reading a Viking Saga. Don’t pick up a book to read about Viking Wars and expect a cake walk.

I was pleasantly surprised, having no idea what to expect. This is an excellent read, with very good historiocity, very close to being historically correct, but still fiction. The ending was exactly what it should be, however the reader would have preferred it to be. Hope this author continues writing.
