H.I.V.E. (Higher Institute of Villainous Education) is a top secret school of applied villainy where children with a precocious talent for wrongdoing are sent to develop their talents into criminal mastermind. After all, 'villains have the best lines and wear the best costumes'. One small catch is that the children cannot leave until training is complete, six years later. With villainy comes a certain freedom of thought, and every year one student in particular will show exceptional talent - after all, it takes the best to produce the worst. This year there are two students: Otto Malpense and his new friend Wing Fanchu are both exceptionally bad, and they are definitely not keen on being held against their will for six long years.

A solid start to a brand-new series, this is an amazing book. Set in a prison/school for future villains, the main characters move forward together on their way to what seems like villainhood but turns out to be true friendship and trust. As the story moves on, it seems as though villains aren't as terrible as you think....

This was a solidly okay book. From what I've heard, it's a series that gets better with the next books though.

Hive is a beautiful start to a promising series. Lacks a little more character development and I must confess I have put it down for books like the Rose Society. (But seriously its hard to compete with a book like that) but I would recommend hive to almost anyone its awesome and not to mention hilarious at times. My fav character was possibly Franz. Yeah I know....but hes hilarious.

As you go into the world of H.I.V.E, you will see some really intense, funky, spine chilling, funny and exciting moments. (Jaw droppers included).

It starts off a bit slow, you might be like "meh this boring" but as you read, 99% mind blown or your money back. Just keep on reading the series, you will be hyped guaranteed.

It starts kind of slow, but keep reading! It gets better! These books are really good, you should read them!!!!

I found this book to be OK. I read this after finding that Mark Walden writes like Robert Muchmore but this isn't really my style. In saying that, I did have to read the whole series to see how it ended.

If you are more into tech-related adventures and secret schools with a bit of action, then this is for you.

Quotes from the book: " ... detailing one nefarious plot after another, each one seeming more devilishly cunning than the last one." and "When you graduate from H.I.V.E. you will be the trailblazers, the cutting edge of evil, leaders for whom conventional should never be good enough." Pure entertaining work of fiction, great for encouraging readers to work toward their "evil best." And you will probably never guess what all this will lead to as you read the storyline. As you read the descriptions, of the characters & their surroundings, they are so clear that you will be able to visualize this story in your head & mind. *Plenty of action, suspense, and intrigue to keep you turning the pages until you get to the story's conclusion.

It's exciting, funny and a great twist to the usual hero villain portrayals. Definitely a must read!

There is 6 books in all the princeton public library has up to the 5th. I have one word to describe this series AWESOME! I love the action and there is a hint of romance between otto and laura and between shelby and wing. Wing's character is awesome. I actually did a book report on this series and got 100%. In other words read the series!
