Great movie. One of the better movies based on books. For a whole lineup of my favorite movies based on books visit my list.

Surprisingly good adaptation of the book. It's faster paced than the book, and loses some of the "thriller" aspects, shooting for action action action. The plot is simplified but still works. Good for the 13s up, especially if you're looking for something that's full on without being too intense, if you get what I mean. (It's not Tarantino, more like the original "Alien" or "Terminator").
I liked it.

Second time watching this clever SciFi movie and still really enjoy it. Intense scenes with surprises. Second installment, "Scorch Trials," is also quite good with lots of suspenseful action!

Not gonna lie, I felt the suspense watching this. I was on the edge of my chair, trying to figure out what was going on with the maze and why all these boys were trapped. I had an idea as to why, and in the end I was (somewhat) correct.
The actors did a great job. Several of the characters had another layer to them, which I did appreciate. The special effects and CGI put into the maze were awesome. There was definitely a creepy factor present. The violence was very up front and center, so for some reason The Maze Runner felt darker then even some other gritty movies I've watched. The tone is very grim and hopeless, although the main characters defy that feeling with their actions. I suppose it's an inspirational movie of sorts, but it also serves as a sobering reminder of the messed up things humanity will do to survive.
After watching the whole thing though...honestly, I don't really want to see The Scorch Trials. I've heard from others it wasn't as good, and the whole dystopian world created here was very bleak and dark. Not sure if I'll continue. But as for this movie, it was intriguing, scary, well-acted and animated, and interesting. I'll give it that.

I definitely enjoyed the book more than the movie.

The movie is confusing and a very obvious starter for a franchise. I fail to see why I should care about a disconnected series of events/tests.

Its interesting how this man changes everything once he got into the maze.

I read the book and really loved it, so I was excited to see the movie. But the movie is very different than the book (most of the main points are there, but done in a different way); which I was disappointed about. I really liked the acting and I thought they did a good job with the movie itself, and I think if you haven't read the book you will love this movie, but if you read the book, you will probably prefer the book better.

I've always been the type to enjoy dystopian future concepts such as the one in this series, especially ones that were adapted from books. I usually read the books before watching the movie(s) but I just never got around to the Maze Runner book series and enjoyed the movie nonetheless. The action-packed film kept me constantly guessing as to where the plot was heading. I enjoyed the dynamic relationships between the characters, the subtle humour, and the drama. It reminds me of certain aspects of the Divergent series, which I also thoroughly enjoyed. I spent the entire movie watching the screen in anticipation.
