Lin Su Simmons and her teenage son, Charlie, are fixtures at Winnie Banks's house as Lin Su nurses Winnie through the realities of ALS. A single mother, Lin Su is proud of taking charge and never showing weakness. But she has her hands full coping with a job, debt and Charlie's health issues. When Charlie enlists Blake's help to escape his overprotective mother, Lin Su resents the interference in her life. While this was a decent read it wasn't my favourite.

The romance between Blake and Lin Su took a long time to progress and develop, so much so that I didn't really feel that much chemistry between them. The ending seemed very rushed

I did enjoy the interactions between Charlie and Blake. Charlie has had so many health problems while growing up, so when Blake a triathlete moves in next door, of course Charlie is super excited!! Blake takes the time to teach, train and motivate Charlie to know his limit, push beyond it and know the proper way of doing things without damaging his health. Blake is definitely is a good mentor, especially for other children who grow up with similar circumstances as he did.

The story does detour a bit and shows the lives of the characters from previous books, which I have not read, so I tend to be a little bit lost and wondering where the story was going. Although some of the detours turn out quite interesting, I do like Grace and her mother. Actually I much prefer them over Lin Su, who is too overprotective and comes on a little too strong in some sense.

I've enjoyed all the books in the series until this one. I wish the heroine Lin Su was developed better, that her character was some how presented in a way that I could at least feel something for her, that I could better understand what is going on inside of her and have some empathy for her. But alas, I simply do not ever come to like her or feel sympathy for her. I do like the other characters in this book and have enjoyed reading this series, until now.

An enjoyable series. Another typical romance develops between a triathlete looking for serious commitment and a private nurse who falls for him.
I'd love one of those houses by the beach. And that flat above Grace's shop is becoming the perfect place to heal broken hearts in preparation for the one true love. Ginger, Su Lin - who's next?

Luv this author and this series. Therefore I was disappointed with this book.
It was like she needed to meet a quota or deadline.
I really didn't like the ending.
Not believable!
