Anyone who likes to calculate figures in their head, pose a brainteaser to a friend, or enjoys the pleasure of self-imagining something clever will delight in the journey and quiet contemplation of Beremiz Samir from The Man Who Counted, by Malba Tahan. Written like a traditional folktale, travels of the Middle East have become the backdrop to the more expansive travel of the mind and the undiscovered treasures mathematics can reveal.

Very interesting math puzzles recounted in a "thousand-and-one-night" fashion. Each puzzle is a mini-story on its own. Great for older smart kids .
