Dana Nolan was a promising young TV reporter until a notorious serial killer tried to add her to his list of victims nearly a year ago. Plagued by flashbacks and nightmares as dark as the heart of a killer, she returns to her hometown in an attempt to pull her life back together. But home doesn't provide the comfort she expects - and her return has rekindled police and media interest in the unsolved case of her childhood best friend, who disappeared without a trace the summer after their graduation from high school. Terrified of truths long buried, Dana reluctantly begins to look back at her past. As she questions everything she knows, while old friends and loved ones become suspects and enemies, Dana seeks out a truth that may prove too terrible to be believed...

Excellent read. I guessed the real killer quickly but there was enough intrigue & red herrings to make me question my decision at several points during the story.
The characters become very real & complex.
Well, well worth the read!

no shortage of drama in this book. It was a quite a bit far fetched but I still had difficulty putting it down. I liked it.

Dark, fast paced, complex characters. A bit predictable but still a good read.

I normally don't read mystery fiction, however, I needed something to read and Tami Hoag's name was familiar.
I really liked this book, at least it kept me engrossed and coming back for more - to finish it to see "who done it"!
Good read! I plan to read more of this author!

Dana Nolan has survived a terrible ordeal and is working her way back to "normal". She becomes involved in what actually happened when her best friend disappeared. Is she prepared for the answers? I know I was not. A page turner as only Hoag can deliver.

Tami Hoag usually holds my interest, but this one was very boring and long on words

Another great book by Tami Hoag. I've read every one of her books and she never disappoints.

It was a good book. Not up to the standard of the author.

Tami Hoag's novels are always worth the wait. She always has an excellent plot, characters to root for and admire. This was no exception. I figured the murderer out to be one of two people, but I still loved the book. I always wish for more stuff from her, but maybe the time taken is why I love her books so much. I highly recommend all of her books. She always has unforgettable characters.
