Loved this book! Thoroughly original and keeps you wanting more. About a one day read for each book, the plot and characters are well developed and have a good bit of action. The entire series has a good deal of romance so be prepared, but it compliments the story line and the protagonist's challenges she must overcome. Good book, and a good series.

Twenty-two thumbs up. I loved this book. I love Tucker, I love that Clara is already aware of her genetic identity, and I love that ending (Spoilers: Okay, oh my gosh, the creepy Black Wing Sam guy who somehow liked her mom, yet was contemplating raping her. The fact that Christian is ALSO A FREAKING ANGEL-BLOOD. And the fact that Clara has no clue what that means for her purpose. Did she fail it? Will her wings darken? What was her purpose even supposed to be? Are her and Christian supposed to get together even if they love other people????) UGH!
The suspense is killing me.
Angela was a great character- the snoopy, totally-with-it, goth goody-two shoes. But really, the main attraction of this book is Clara and Tucker! They're so cute!!!
Plus, Clara can be herself around him now without fear, and she can let her gorgeous, illuminating golden hair fly free from the dreaded carrot-orange hair dye.
I'm hoping this next book brings Jeffery more into focus, cause he is drawing my attention, and that Margaret's (Clara's mom) story gets told finally. Can't wait for this sequel!

Cynthia Hand's Unearthly is a teen romance/ fantasy novel about angels. Though the concept of angels seems a little over done, this novel proves to be worth the read. In the story we are introduced to Clara Gardner, whom of which is part angel. Clara, because of being part angel now has a purpose in life, something shes was destined to accomplish. Throughout the novel Clara has visions of what her purpose as an angel on earth is. These visions eventually lead her to a boy named Christian in her new school. Clara soon enough finds herself in a hot spot as another boy named Tucker comes into the picture. In the novel Clara struggles between the concept of love and fate and finds herself in many conflicts throughout the story. I fairly enjoyed this book. I liked seeing the love triangle between Clara, Tucker, and Christian. However, I found that this book wasn't anything special, the story itself, in my opinion doesn't seem very memorable, and I found some parts a little dull. The character development of the main character; Clara was done really well. It was interesting reading her internal conflicts about choosing either Christian or Tucker. Some themes that play out in the novel are Love and Fate. Cynthia Hand's Unearthly is an appealing book for those who love twilight-esque novels or anybody looking for a decent teen romance novel. Though it is a little lengthy, this novel is a fair read. I would rate this book a 7.5/10.

Really enjoyed this book and finished in just over a day, couldn't put it down. The theme of angels and how as they get older they get their purpose and must fulfill it. I enjoyed and related to on some level with the main character Clara and learning with her how to deal with a changing life, make new friends, about her angel ancestors and finally falling in love. One thing I disliked was her friends, once we get to know them it's summertime and they are shipped out to make room for the next person, thought this could have been written differently. The end had such a twist I didn't see it coming. The sinister aspect of the fallen angels' role and Clara's mother's past, that is alluded to often, has yet to be really worked out, and I can't wait to read more.

Clara is human but not fully human. Part of her is angel blood. Clara has been having these visions of her purpose. Every angel has a purpose for them on Earth. In her vision, it is not quite clear of what she has to do. However, she gets a feeling that she must try to save this boy. She doesn't know who he is just how the back of his head looks like. Details of the vision aren't clear yet. But, as the date of when the vision will occur gets nearer, everything becomes more clear.

Clara is only part angel, but it's enough to make her a blip on the screen for dark, fallen angels to target and take out. She has a task to complete, as all angels do at some point in their lives. It's this task that moves them to a new town. Her mother is a higher percentage angel-blood and completed her task years ago in her long (but not quite "immortal") life. Clara knows little about her mom's task, as she won't talk about it much, and is struggling to decipher dreams and visions that leave her half-guessing at her choices.

"The first time, November 6 to be exact, I wake up at two a.m. with a tingling in my head like tiny fireflies dancing behind my eyes. I smell smoke. I get up and wander from room to room to make sure no part of the house is on fire. Everything's fine, everybody sleeping, tranquil. It's more of a campfire smoke, anyway, sharp and woodsy. I chalk it up to the usual weirdness that is miry life. I try, but can't get back to sleep. So I go downstairs. And I'm drinking a glass of water at the kitchen sink, when, with no other warning, I'm in the middle of the burning forest. It's not like a dream. It's like I'm physically there. I don't stay long, maybe all of thirty seconds, and then I'm back in the kitchen, standing in a puddle of water because the glass has fallen from my hand."
