I really enjoyed this movie. And yet it got me thinking a lot about our dependence on the internet, need for attention and validation.

i really got involved in this one. scarey, if you care about the lead character (and i do). valid social criticisms, too: this one's futuristic speculations seems valid, to me. what a wild and crazy culture we all have together, even the young and beautiful. i'd say the theme of this one derives from aldous huxley's BRAVE NEW WORLD, even the tone.

I'll be honest. "The Lottery," "Lord of the Flies," "Battle Royale" and "Hunger Games" are essentially the same things except they don't involve social media or money. This is a commentary on the digital age, peer pressure, teen acceptance and fake romance as a way of expressing the issues of the millennial age. Nothing was too surprising in this movie if you know the YA dystopian style or any of the stories/movies above. Still, it's enjoyable and a thriller as the dares increase. I'd probably watch this over some other films I've seen recently.

This film is perfect for the "me" generation which includes living your life through others, but all within the convenience of your phone. Trite, predictable and with no redeeming value what so ever, this kiddies flick was rather boring. Got nerve? Find something to watch that won't waste your time.

Before I begin, I really think that the title should have been "Guts" instead of "Nerve", or even "Guts and Nerve". Overall, I deem this movie quite high because I can see something like this happening now, especially with all the social media and phone frenzy (err...obsession). It was wonderfully put together with just the right amount of tension and depth. I mean, it was a really good watch! I recommend it.

Just finished the movie. It was awesome. Kinda depict current generation. Maybe in future this nerve could happen all reality.

An interesting concept and a fun watch, at least for the first time. I'd say that some of the characters are unbelievably terrible, but that's probably not the case. Not having a singular, identifiable villain is an interesting concept, but I'm not sure how well it works in the larger scheme of things.

A frightening story about the power that the social media obsession and the mob mentality can have over the younger generation.

A taut and highly pertinent contemporary nightmare of a film which careens about with so much promise only to fizzle out just before the finish line. Firmly rooted in a depersonalized culture which bases self-worth on the number of “likes” one can get, where emotions are a spectator sport and life is observed through the lens of a smartphone, Henry Joost and Ariel Shcuman’s savvy adaptation of Jeanne Ryan’s novel puts all that social media technology to effective use---even the film’s colours are exaggerated as if the world itself has been photoshopped. It’s too bad then that after almost ninety minutes of tense build-up the ending arrives like a weak-kneed composite of "The Goonies" and "Mad Max" with avenging hackers and OMGs! all around.---“Kids, don’t try this at home” and “Pics, or else it didn’t happen” seem to be the only take-home messages here. At least the kick-ass soundtrack offers some redemption with tracks from the likes of Roy Orbison, Wu-Tang Clan, and Icona Pop.

You think that takes nerve? Why don't you take off your masks and show yourselves, huh? You, take off your mask.
Yeah, what's your name? It's easy for you to be brave in a crowd! Hiding behind your screen names. Don't you guys see that you're all still responsible for what happens tonight, even if you are just watching?

I have a quick question. How would I know if I'm being hacked?
-What do you mean?
Hacked. Somebody's been depositing money into my account under Vee's name.
-That doesn't sound like a hack. Normally, they would take money out if they were hacking you.

How do they know you're afraid of heights?
That's what they do. It's easy. They just take all your info from your old profiles and put it in your nerve profile.
Um... some kid came by and gave me that book. To the lighthouse, yeah, my favorite.
-Exactly. Because it's on your Facebook page. They know all the information about you, Vee.
I know how much you love living in the moment, Syd. Well, remember this moment. Because you're one of those
girls who peaks in high school. And when you wake up one day, still living in Staten island, still screwing the same guys,
wondering what the hell happened to your life.
You guys are the dumbest smart kids I've ever met.
