Another engaging novel by Carroll, A World of Other People skillfully uses the Blitz as a backdrop to explore the personal relationship between a fighter pilot and a writer, while the world around them is changing.

Same narrative voice as other Carroll books i.e. present tense, obsessive retelling and elaboration of details, but this time moves beyond suburban Melbourne to explore relationship between an Australian fighter pilot and an English woman. Beautifully told and packs an emotional punch.

Quite, quite, beautiful.I loved the writing style and the story sent me back to reading T S Eliot and investigating his background.
