On board a puffer steamboat in the Western Isles of Scotland, Emily is spending an idyllic summer at sea. Afterward, she must return to her single life and career in town as a midwife - a job she loves, though she's been in need of a good rest. But she has not counted on the new friends she is making. Or the fun she is having. Or the attraction she is starting to feel for Alasdair, the handsome local doctor. Because if she falls in love with him - as he appears to be doing with her - will she ever want her old life back again?

A great summer on a boat read - believable plot with just a little over-the-top-ness at times.
I will read more by this author.
