What a rollercoaster. I love apocalyptic sci-fi and can put up with a good dose of reality suspension, but this went a bit too far for me. It started off with great pace but soon crossed the line into la la land, with a seemingly endless supply of ridiculous coincidences. Everyone was apparently connected by design (on a discovering the milkman was actually your second best friend from grade 1's stepfather level), the female leads were consistently reduced to bickering over the male lead, a main character's self-induced amnesia is never fully explained and global travel appears to have been reduced dramatically so that people can fly from the UK to Australia in a couple of hours. My greatest confusion though is how the reported death toll is so low considering it's, well, a pandemic.
Mind boggling.
