VERY GLAD I read this WITH my child. Topics of discussion that may have festered alone.

Leila has 2 fathers. This was lightly touched on in the first book and was made much more clear throughout this book. It would have been nice to know this before my child started reading it. I believe the topic is something that a family should discuss on their own time, rather than be forced into it.

Leila is adopted. A couple claiming to be her birthparents tries to remove her from her adoptive family with a fake birth certificate and fake lawyer. This brings undo stress, anxiety and outright fear to a young reader who may be adopted themselves.

Otherwise - The storyline and the adventure are fun and engaging. It is well written and leaves you wanting more.
