Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick in the same movie.
Even if it's the worst movie ever made, I'm watching it.
I never saw the movie commercials for it. I'll report back to tell you if it's any good.
If you loved the movie, more power to you. But I found the plot to a variation of what a soap opera could come up with. It was easy to predict, and I was never surprised. The humor, while expected, was mostly cringeworthy, particularly the revelation about the oh-so-perfect "Mommy Blogger" played by Anna Kendrick. I did my best to avoid seeing bad movies in 2018 (and paying for them), but I failed when it came to this.
First half of the movie was interesting! The 2nd half of the movie was a mess and the ending was LAUGHABLE! A waste of Blake Lively's talent! EHHHHH!
The very definition of a "Black Comedy." Haven't seen so many plot twists since Game Night. Though here the misdirection especially piles up at the very end--you are sure everything has finally resolved, only to find it has not. Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively probably could have carried this film as a two-character act, though A Simple Favor is enhanced by a talented supporting cast.
This is much more than a film - it is a high quality cinematic work of art. It is the best movie I have seen in 2018, and far surpasses anything I have watched in a long time. There is a lot to digest, so you will probably want to watch it more than once. It hits you in the face at the beginning, and continues to do so until the end. This is a highly complex story, and the acting is impeccable. If you are going to spend time to watch a movie, you may as well watch the best, and this is it kids.
Fantastic movie---great acting and writing !
