A family home has become a family crime scene. Five people are involved. Four of them - mother, stepfather, daughter, son - have been savagely murdered. The fifth, the eldest daughter, is missing. Did she escape? Or is her absence evidence of something much more sinister? Detective D.D. Warren is on the case, as is survivor-turned-avenger Flora Dane. Together they must make sense of the clues left behind by a sixteen-year-old girl who, as victim or suspect, is silently pleading, 'Look for me.'

What a boring book! Would like to know why all the characters; who was "I" in the book-had no ideas who she was talking about half the time; why go into so much detail about a kid that dies 4 months earlier; just to much detail about places and people.
Not impressed with this book at all! Can't even rate this book cause it wouldn't show on the radar!!!

I was totally invested in this book! I could not put it down, the twists and turns kept me guessing to the very end. This was the first book I read of Lisa Gardner's and I will now have her on my list of must reads from now on. Highly recommend this book, you won't be disappointed.

omg couldn't put this book down. Kept waiting and hoping the many characters would survive this ordeal. The plot took so many directions whilst keeping me along for the ride. The author always keeps us guessing until almost the very end.

The characters in this story have all been damaged, several of them in very profound ways. Some cope well. Some do not. And it is at that crossroads that the events in this story take place.

Through the essays of the central character, Roxanne, we are asked to examine what makes a family work and what destroys it, how identify who is family (made or given) to us, and how far we will go (good or evil) to protect them.

Conversely, we are treated to a searing look inside foster families and the terrible toll they can take on those forced to live in them.

While technically this book is a thriller, it is also very serious. There are deep and visceral lessons to be learned here, and if reading this story doesn't make you count your own blessings and hug your own family particularly tight, I would be surprised.

I agree with other readers....so many different comments, hard to believe we read the same book. I found the book generally boring and had to work to finish.

Lisa Gardner is one of my favorite fictional writers and she did not disappoint. If the reader did not know or care how those on the outer fringes of life live, they do now.

Both tragically sad but also boring. Had to force myself to finish it

Exceptional read. Unfortunate reality of a portion of our society. Heart breaking story of a family torn apart.

Love having DD Warren and Flora Dane working together again in this latest Lisa Gardner thriller. I rounded up from 4.5 stars to rate this bok, especially for the insight we all get into the foster system. Most notable is the role the CASA volunteers play in providing stability for the children and filling gaps where needed. Five stars to them, for sure.

This story is twisted puzzle from the beginning and we watch the knots get untangled by DD and Flora in alternating chapters. Also included are essays written by Roxy (the surviving member of the slain family) on what makes a perfect family. She has lived through difficulties many of us would not imagine in our worst nightmares. It is heartbreaking to see the trauma kids are exposed to when their families fall victim to drugs, alcohol and/or violence. Not a feel good read, but a satisfying conclusion.
